Sherry Cole

THE BASICS
Sherry earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Bob Jones University in South Carolina in 1984. Has experience in accounting and business management. She married Rick and moved to Alabama where they were blessed with three boys---Austin, Parker and Hudson. The family moved back to the area and joined First Baptist in 1996. Over the next 8 years, Sherry became involved in Discipleship and Children’s Ministries while enjoying being a stay at home mom. In August of 2004, Sherry joined the staff as Preschool Director and is currently serving as Children’s Director.

My responsibilities at church are...
I, along with children’s ministry leadership teams, oversee Children’s Ministry from infants to 5th grade students. I work closely with our leadership teams and train new volunteers, helping them to find their unique role serving God. It is my job to ensure that our church provides a safe, nurturing environment where children feel known, loved. Ultimately, it is our desire to partner with parents to guide children toward a personal relationship with God.

Watching our volunteers connect with the kids! I’ve had the incredible privilege of watching folks rock babies, lead children in pledges, sing worship songs, act out skits and teach the Bible with passion.
